Code of Conduct
JokersChat Code of Conduct - Always respect your fellow chatters and your chat OPs - Unwelcome insults and intimidation constitute "flaming" and a ban will ensue. - JokersChat is for adults over the age of 18 ONLY.

NickServ

NickServ is a chat nickname manager that users can use to protect themselves against nick stealing in chat and use other chat services.

Commands can be sent to NickServ in any of the following forms:
(Some commands also have other shorter forms (aliases) such as /register and /identify)


/MSG NickServ COMMAND

/NickServ COMMAND

/NS COMMAND

Common commands for NickServ:

HELP
Command: /NS HELP (also /NS HELP COMMAND for specific help)
The Help command will display a list commands available with NickServ. To display specific help on a command use /NS HELP COMMAND command.

IDENTIFY
Command: /NS IDENTIFY YourPassword (or /IDENTIFY YourPassword)
The Identify command will identify you to NickServ.

REGISTER
Command: /NS REGISTER YourPassword YourEmail (or /REGISTER YourPassword)
This will register your nickname with NickServ allowing you to identify yourself and use other services.

MemoServ

MemoServ allows sending short messages to offline users, that they can then read when they come online later...

Commands can be sent to MemoServ in any of the following forms:


/MSG MemoServ COMMAND

/MemoServ COMMAND

/MS COMMAND

Common commands for NickServ:

Command: /MS HELP (also /MS HELP COMMAND for specific help)
The Help command will display a list commands available with MemoServ. To display specific help on a command use /MS HELP COMMAND command.

How To: Change nickname
To change your nickname in chat enter the following command in chat: `/NICK NewNickname` Example: `/NICK Barney * Guest453 is now known as Barney` If the nickname you choose is already registered you must change your nickname again.

How To: Registering your chat nickname

You must register your chat nickname seperately from your JokersUpdates.com forum account. To register your nickname in chat:

- Connect to chat via JavaChat, mIRC or other IRC client application
- Command: /register PASSWORD EMail
- Your current nickname in chat will be registered with the given PASSWORD and E-Mail

Example:


 /nick MyName

 *** JGuest703 is now known as MyNick

 /register mypassword nomail@domain.com

 -NickServ- Nickname MyNick registered under your account: *JavaGuest@*.yourisp.com

Your nickname is now registered and you can identify to NickServ (or enter your password on the JavaChat entrance page).

How To: I forget my password
If you forget your password we cannot recover it. If we have no reason to suspect you are not the owner of the nickname we will terminate the nickname and you can re-register with NickServ.

Download mIRC from www.mirc.com Server: irc.jokersupdates.com (port 6667) Channel: #JokersChat (mIRC Instructions for connecting to JokersNet will be posted soon)
