Michaele and Tareq Salahi are going from the White House's security list to Bravo's A-list.

Michaele Salahi is part of the cast of The Real Housewives of D.C., premiering Thursday, Aug. 5 at 9/8c.

The latest installment of the Bravo franchise --- the fifth following Orange County, New York City, Atlanta and New Jersey — will spotlight Salahi and four other women living in the nation's capital shortly after the election and inauguration of President Barack Obama.

"We wanted to dive into the Beltway subculture as it underwent an historic shift, one that previously has not been readily accessible or portrayed, and look at the political hierarchy and definitive social circles that make up D.C.'s unique society," said Andy Cohen, Bravo's senior vice president of original programming and development. "We knew this was going to expose a different social narrative from any of our other Housewives series — provocative and engaging in a whole new way."

The new series' other four cast members, who were announced Tuesday, are Mary Schmidt Amons, the granddaughter of Arthur Godfrey, a radio personality who became an early TV star; Lynda Erkiletian, the owner of a top D.C. modeling agency; Catherine Ommanney, the wife of a White House photographer; and political fundraiser Stacie Scott Turner.

Salahi made cause celebre in November when she and her husband crashed a White House state dinner and came face-to-face with President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. She is listed as a model and founder of D.C.'s America's Polo Cup.

At the time, it was reported that the Salahis were being filmed and Bravo released a statement saying that couple were "under consideration" for the show.

Footage from the infamous state dinner will air at the end of the first season, The Washington Post reports.
