They're both very good, SnagIt does only captures, Camtasia can edit videos too, but they both have their issues. There are some freeware screen capture programs out there and also video editors if you want to check them out - type "free screen capture" in Google and let your mouse do the walking
Did you contact their tech support? Also check their site in case someone else had the same problem and has solved it...
