seeing how conflicts arise with some and bonds are formed with others, is the core of the fascination with Big Brother.
They do things like H/HN, etc to 'manufacture' drama from stress=short tempers=shouting matches, but that always seems to backfire as it appears to do more to make them listless=boring/sleep.
The drama is in the people they select. They have to live with each other. That guarantees friction. It is the stress from that that is fascinating, not the stress that is superimposed from BB.
The only function I can see the twists serve is to create a 'hook' for the promos on tv. Surely, they can create promos/ads without resorting to this tired old theme of twists, which in the end subverts the true nature/draw of BB.
