HOW WE LOVE HOWIE... BUT DO HIS HOUSEMATES?
Beau advises Kaysar to act more outgoing…like Howie.
April thinks "Howie is in Howie-land," and Rachel describes his antics as "Howie being Howie."
Secrets abound in this episode of BIG BROTHER 6: from hidden rooms to mysterious keys to private fantasies. The games begin after a quick recap of the eviction Nomination Ceremony. Cappy, as father-figure Eric has affectionately become known, discloses his determination to protect his all-male alliance and evict a chick, namely Ashlea. Kaysar digs deep into his high-school memories, asking glamour guru and cultural cohort Beau the timeless question: how to become popular? Beau suggests acting more outgoing…like Howie. Howie, after all, is the guy who declares, "A guy with my looks, my build, and my future economic potential…. If I leave a bar/nightclub by myself, somebody is getting arrested, because a crime has been committed." April's opinion is less glowing--"Howie is in Howie-land"--but Rachel is a fan, shrugging off his behavior as just "Howie being Howie." Beau forecasts a "bi-curious" future for his new housemate, but the man himself is unfazed, confiding that his strategy is working out perfectly. But did the original plan really include dressing in lingerie and parading around the house in full make-up? Upstairs, Rachel stumbles on a remote control in her bedroom. After it reveals a TV screen showing a gold bedroom, she finds a riddle that leads to another clue. Staying silent about her discovery, she rejoins the HouseGuests. Rachel's poker face fails her miserably as she tries to act normal and avoid raising suspicions.
Chilling out on the couches, the HouseGuests get personal.
Rachel sneaks past a sleeping Sarah, climbing through the secret room's doorway.
LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE BIG BROTHER WAY Chilling out on the couches, the HouseGuests get personal as Cappy opens up, giving a stirring insight into the brotherhood of firefighters. Kaysar and Ivette are moved by the conversation about life, friendship, heroism and community. In fact, Ivette is moved to join Eric on the backyard hammock to recap her HouseGuest hit list. So much for the touchy-feely schmaltz!
Speaking of schemers, Rachel strikes gold with her compass clue. Locating a secret panel in the bedroom, she sneaks past a sleeping Sarah, climbing into the newly opened doorway. Once inside, Rachel celebrates upon finding a hanging key. In a nail-biting moment, she's almost busted by Kaysar when she tries to leave the hidden room. Slamming the door seconds before Kaysar sees her, she eventually slips out undetected.
The HouseGuests open the hot tub. In true democratic form, the HouseGuests spin for sleeping rights to the Gold Room.
HOT TUB CLUB: CLOTHING OPTIONAL Rachel finds a match for her key in the hot tub lock. Opening it, the HouseGuests strip down and indulge. As everyone soaks, Rachel reveals the existence of the gold bedroom. Ivette shouts in vindication, suspecting from day one that there was a hidden room. In true democratic form, the HouseGuests spin for sleeping rights to the Gold Room.
The Power of Veto competition approaches. According to the rules, only six players can participate. The HoH and the two eviction nominees get to choose one teammate from the remaining HouseGuests. For Kaysar and Ashlea, it may be their last chance at salvation.
Kaysar prepares for competition day with ritual prayers. HouseGuests get Rec-Tangled for the PoV.
OH, WHAT A (REC-)TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE Snores echo through the darkened halls of the BIG BROTHER house as Kaysar prepares for competition day with ritual prayers. Prior to the Power of Veto Competition, Ashlea asks Howie to be her champion. He is noncommittal, but steps up to the plate, while Rachel chooses Maggie and Kaysar chooses Eric. Ivette is selected as host.
The games begin as Rec-Tangled, the jungle-gym based competition, is met with some unhappy faces. The teams of two must untangle ropes threaded through metal cages, working their way towards the veto medallion at the center of the maze. To make things more difficult, each duo is attached to one another at either end of their rope. Now, the smart money might be on firefighting family man Cappy, but not so fast, punters. You also have the ropin' skills of horse-gal Rachel and the dressing dexterity of nurse Maggie to consider. After some serious competition, Rachel and Maggie triumph, with power-drenched Rachel winning the PoV. Eric's revised appraisal of Rachel: "She's a force to be reckoned with" and "a wolf in sheep's clothing."
Rachel suspects that Jennifer is snooping, not pooping, in her private bathroom. Rachel declares that she wants to remove Ashlea from eviction and nominate Jennifer.
SNOOPING OR POOPING? The festivities end as Jennifer runs afoul of Rachel for locking herself in the HoH Room. Rachel suspects that "Little Jenny" is snooping, rather than pooping, in her private space. In a rash move, Rachel declares that she wants to remove Ashlea from eviction and nominate Jennifer. Ivette talks her out of it, claiming that Jennifer is "like a damn kindergartner on her first day of school and has no idea." She adds, "Just when you think you got something figured out, it changes, and some idiot does something to ruin everything!" At the Veto Ceremony, Rachel asks the condemned why she should rescue them with her Power of Veto. Leaving her housemates waiting for a fight that doesn't happen, Ashlea can't think of one. How about $1 million reasons, Ashlea? At least Kaysar seizes the opportunity to pander to Rachel's ego. But will it be enough? Double-dealings, treacherous treaties and the first live eviction are all revealed as we find out who loses their shot at $1 million on the next episode of BIG BROTHER 6, Thursday, July 14, at 8 pm ET/PT, only on CBS.
