Carol would then be indebted to them, and would help them later. They are afraid that Amber would be voted back into the house in 4 weeks. They then argue the other direction in keeping Amber. They are afraid of the allaince of the 6 enemies. and if they kept Carol, there would be 6 enemies. if they evicted her, there would only be 5, and it would be safer 5 vs 4, rather than 6 vs 4. they have no idea if the alliance of 6 actually exists.
