Jameka and Amber have been lying in the hammock talking about the people they like in the house. Amber then mentions she doesn't know what being jewish exactlyl means.
Jameka goes on to explain how in older times, people prayed to the sun god and sometimes mutliple gods, whereas the Jewish people were God's chosen people. Then Jesus came and said he was the mesiah and saved people by dying on the cross. She explains that for Christians, Jesus was the mesiah, while for the Jewish people they are still waiting for the mesiah.
Amber didn't seem to know any of this, despite being Christian.
Amber: Ooooh...yeah cause I was talking to Eric today about my lifechanging experience, and I didn't know what Jewish meant. And I said I said I believe God was the reason, and I was like "eww, I didn't want to offend him."
Amber: And then mormons are what?
Jameka: Mormons, I don't even know WHAT they are.
Amber: What else is there? What other people do believe in--[Jesus]
Jameka: There's a lot of them...athiests don't believe in anything.
Lists off Catholics, pentacostal, Evangelical, some others...
Amber: Oh so I thought when you said you're Catholic, that just meant you were Christian.
Jameka: No, that's just your denommination. Where I go to a non-denomination church.
Amber: That's what I do...that's what I WANT to do, I mean.
Jameka then has to explain to Amber what it means to be nondenominational, how they all just accept Jesus and don't worry about divisions. |
