Ragan's dad was Jewish. (Kathy interjected and joked, "So you do know Andrew!") Ragan isn't clear on the details but said that in the Jewish tradition, one of your children needs to have a name with the same first letter as their grandmother. Ragan's grandmother's name was Rose. Ragan's mom didn't want a common name like Ryan or Randall. They saw someone with the last name Ragan in a newspaper. Ragan didn't like his name when he was growing up, wanted to be Ryan.
Also, Britney mentioned she said something inappropriate when she was young when she met someone's daughter named Ragan. She said like in the Exorcist? Matt thinks of The Exorcist when he hears the name too. |
