First off, I was looking forward to Big Band night! I honestly feel that I was born in the wrong era. Big Band, Swing & Jazz course through my veins and moves my very soul...tonight definately was not a disappointment considering these are youngin's singining way past their time!

Diana DeGarmo

She seemed off to me tonight. This isn't to say she sounded bad, but didn't enjoy her songs as much as usual. Maybe it was cause i had my finger on the speed dial to 911 in case her water broke on stage I told RabHubs that since she seems off to me, the judges are going to love her. Sure enough, they did! Only thing i don't get, is simon saying she's 16, singing like she's 50, in a modern competition...i mean, hello!!! you ask a 16 year old to sing big band 20's - 40's music and be in a modern competition but you don't want her to sound that way??? Go fig!

George Huff

Heaven, I'm in heaven.... His voice was perfect for this genre. Sure, he didn't Georgify it, but to me, that would have ruined the pureness of these classics!Second song, What a wonderful world! I noticed he sang the Guy Sebastian (Australian Idol winner) version of the song. While George did a fabulous job, nothing beats Guy singing it, well, 'cept for the master himself Mr. Louis Armstrong

LaToya London

She did fabulous as usual, as expected. But that's the thing, we expect it from her, we always have. I can't get impressed by her cause i've always been. I know that makes no sense, but she shouldn't be in this competition! She already has her future, so step out and let someone who 'needs' the help and promotion, win it! As usual, the judges rant and rave over her. I think she did a tremendous job, albeit screamy!

Jasmine Trias

I think she did one of the best jobs i've seen her do! Hated the outfit as it was SOOOO not the right style for the era! She sang two of my all time favourite songs. I adore Brigadoon and have seen it a bazillion times! She jazzed it up big time, but in a good way! Of course, judges say it's great but focus on the bad.

Fantasia Barrino

When Ryan said it was a Queen song, I just about died, but she did a pretty darn good job of it. The second song was amazing too. Not as good as Summertime, but pretty good nonetheless. I think she would have been better going with the song "Bless the Child"..now THAT would have brought me to tears!

Per usual, the judges try and cover up a great performance by focussing on the bad and trashing it, in the idols they obviously *don't* want in the final 2....all the while praising and overemphasizing the gap between their favourite two and all the rest. Randy and Simon both admitted to the others that they sang it well, and did a great song, randy even said he 'loved it', but go out of their way to point out the bad. It is because of this, that I hope La Toya & Fantasia bite the dust ASAP! They don't need this competition to succeed AND as well pointed out, they are in a league of their own. So vote them out, and let those who need the competition have a chance at it! To me, it's just downright distateful and hurtful to the others (George, Diana & Jasmine) to continually point out how La Toya & Fantasia are head and shoulders above the rest. If I were them, right about now I'd be thinking.."Why bother? Why try? They've already won!"

My guess, Diana, La Toya & George bottom 3 tomorrow with Diana leaving.

I'm glad Simon insisted on saying he didn't pick that dress. It seriously looked like she was wearing discount lingerie that didn't fit. Did she learn nothing from last week??? The line across her hops does NOT work!!! Sigh. Other than that, she did ok. Entertaining but forgettable.

George Huff

he NAILED it!! I'm sorry, but the first one was one of the best of the night, and What A Wonderful World was very good as well. I LOVED that he suited up and looked snazzy...added an extra shine to the performance. Good for him!

LaToya London

I loved the outfit & the hair. I felt like I was watching a happier Lady Day or Josephine Baker. Beautiful. Great performances, but hey...would we expect anything less?

Jasmine Trias

liked the outfit (except the lime green bra that just screamed "I'm too shy to go braless!!!"), but not for tonight. She should have gone retro. I think she would have looked awesome in a 40's pantsuit. And her second song...I can't hear it without immediately thinking of Annette Benning in American Beauty. Not Jasmine's fault at all...lol. She did great for someone her age who probably had never heard of Big Band before being introduced to it by Barry Manilow.

Fantasia Barrino

See-Ahh- Looked great, sounded great. Brought tears to Paula's eyes (or did she get a look at herself on the monitor and realize she should NEVER do her own makeup???) I didnt particularily like the song choices, but apparently I'm in the minority (having never listened to anything Barbra's ever sung except in Yentyl). Still packs a 1-2 punch to everyone else except LaToya.

Over all, my favourite performance was George's...I'm just so glad to see him looking so nice & singing something that suits him so well!! You GO, George!!!
