As the show started, I had my popcorn and raisinettes all ready, because it was MOVIE NIGHT! I was really looking forward to this show, and was not let down in the least. I think most of them did a really good job with this theme.

George Huff
"Against All Odds"

Here I thought “uh oh, so much for my excitement”. George was flat and emotionless, in my opinion. Where did his spark go? His bounce? That is when George is at his best. When he is sparkling. Sorry George, I am a big fan, but have to agree with Simon here, it was your weakest performance to date.

Jennifer Hudson
"I Have Nothing"

I was worried about this song choice. Let’s face it Whitney in her prime is tough to sing! But Jennifer did ok to me. She nailed the notes when she had too. She has a powerful voice, this girl. I just can’t put my finger on what I don’t really like about her though. She looks awkward on stage to me. Maybe it’s the way she puts her hand on her hip or something. I’m not sure. But as Quentin said, “Hudson takes on Houston, and wins!” I agree with that.

Jon Peter Lewis
"Jailhouse Rock"

I love this kid. He is just adorable! I think he did a really good job with this song. He is not the most talented singer, but he is just plain out fun to watch. He makes me smile. He is an entertainer. I agree with Randy. JPL was back!!!!

Diana DeGarmo
"My Heart Will Go On"

Again, I thought, tough song! Who in their right mind will sing Celine? I give her credit for trying it. It was just ok to me. Not great, but not horrific either. This is a young girl who needs to mature her voice a bit more. She takes chances though and this time it paid off for her. She seemed a little scared to me last night. But then again, singing Celine is scary! I agree with Paula on this one. It was nice, but not moving.

Fantasia Barrino
"Summertime"

Where do I start with this girl? What a powerful voice she has. Most times I don’t like her song choices, but she nailed this one. I wish she would’ve gotten off her knees though. What’s that all about? Made me think she was begging for votes or something. Anyway, the judges love her, so she will stick around for a while, I think. And after her last performance, she should.

Jasmine Trias
"When I fall in Love"

I really like this girl. She is young and fresh, and just downright adorable. Her performance though was lacking. She faded in and out during her song. It was very boring to me. The excitement wasn’t there. I hope she sticks around, because I think she has the right tools. And her Dad is just so dang cute too! He looks so proud of her all the time. I like that.

John Stevens
"As Time Goes By"

Same old John. I like him, I really do. But every song, no matter what it is, sounds the same. He is just so Dean, Harry, and Frank like all the time. He needs variety in his song choices. I don’t think he will be around much longer. But he has cute Grandparents too.

LaToya London
"Somewhere"

Wow, what can I say about this young woman? She is hot, hot, hot. I love her, and her sound. She nails everything she sings, week in and week out. West Side Story is one of my favorite musicals, so I might be biased, but I thought it was a perfect song for her. She is just so powerful! Great outfit also! This girl is for real. While the others have good weeks and bad weeks, LaToya just cruises along with her consistency. Can you tell I really like her?

So that’s it. It was a good show. The only negative I had was Quentin Tarantino. Bleck. Anyone else think he looks like a cross between Conan O’Brian and Jay Leno? He just creeps me out….Shiver.
Top 3: LaToya, Jennifer, and Fantasia
Bottom 3: Jasmine, Diana, and possibly George

George Huff
"Against All Odds"

Uh, I thought it was actually good. His performance wasn't as good as his previous, but still, I think he still managed to do a good job. He's probably gonna be safe tomorrow.

Jennifer Hudson
"I Have Nothing"

Wow! I think she actually has a chance to win this whole thing now. She has very good vocals, compared to her top 30 performance. (Even though, I liked her like that) Her song choice this week was a good one to show people what she was REALLY made of I think that she will DEFINITELY and HOPEFULLY stay in the competition.

Jon Peter Lewis
"Jailhouse Rock"

Oh my god! Here it goes. I really thought that performance was extremely cheesy. I do not like him AT ALL. He's really annoying and his lame moves are extremely irritating. I think his fan base consist of 15yrs girls. I think he will be safe tomorrow, but he's gonna be gone in the next few weeks to come.

Diana DeGarmo
"My Heart Will Go On"

Diana, I always thought that she was a great singer. She sings alot from her nose, but I really liked her performance tonight. Of course, that ANNOYING song is hard to sing, but I still believe that she did a good job, considering her age (16, wow!) I think that she might get cut off tomorrow, or in the next few weeks to come, unfortunately.

Fantasia Barrino
"Summertime"

Well, I've always been a major fan of Fantasia. She's unique. But tonight, I'm not sure.. I really didn't get the song because I never heard it before. But, it was okay for me. Probably because I never heard the song before. But, I thought her previous performances were better. I'm sure that alot of people are happy that she didn't say "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" at the end, lol.

John Stevens
"As Time Goes By"

I thought it was his best performance to date. He had it, for once. His voice is unique but it's ALWAYS the same thing every week, I'm seriously getting tired of it. I think he's getting cut off tomorrow.

LaToya London
"Somewhere"

Wow! Now, I know why I was rooting for her initially. This was an extremely good performance. The girl has vocals, you have to give her that. I think she has the potential to be in the Final 2, this year. Or not, she'll be Tamyra-ed. (Remember, season 1 when everybody was shocked that Tamyra got kicked off instead of Nicki?)
