Big Brother 28 Update: Angela’s Farewell Tour and Yash’s Protected Targets

Big Brother 28 finally evicted an Icon Thursday night, although Angela Murray made leaving the house look like a limited farewell tour with twelve encore performances.

All three Icons entered the live episode nominated after Yash declined to use the veto. Angela, Dee, and Devens then competed in a double-sided wheel puzzle for Blockbuster safety. Dee appeared to have it solved first, but Devens recovered, hit his buzzer, and won his second consecutive Blockbuster. At this point, putting Devens on the block is less a strategy than enrolling him in another televised escape room.

That left Angela beside Dee, who used the brief window before voting to pitch Yash and Taylor directly. She promised loyalty, offered herself as a shield, and effectively advertised her revenge against Drew and Barrett as a complimentary service. Angela argued that the Icons were no different from everyone else, except most people do not deliver this message by repeatedly shouting it during an eviction speech.

Drew and Melody voted to evict Dee. Devens, Taylor, and Yash voted to evict Angela, sending her to jury 3-2. Devens began by saying he was reluctantly evicting his partner in crime, convincing the audience he meant Dee. Even his vote contained a commercial break.

Angela correctly guessed that Yash and Taylor had turned on her and told them they made the right move. Then she hugged everyone, lingered, talked, hugged more people, and eventually located the front door. People have conducted presidential debates with shorter closing statements.

Once feeds returned, Dee cried over losing Angela while Melody cried because Angela left and nobody included her in the vote. Drew comforted both women, tucked Melody into bed with thoroughness, and apparently resumed his role as the house’s emotionally available source of strategic misinformation.

The night’s power landed with Yash, who won his second HOH. He raised the key to the camera, kissed it, and declared that this is what he does. His basket included more than 25 Gunna songs, Old Spice, pumpkin-spice treats, and flip-flops he said would let “the dogs breathe.” Every dictatorship requires a soundtrack and ventilated toes.

Yash’s victory creates a wonderfully absurd nomination problem. Dee’s $5,000 bribe still prevents him from nominating Dee or Devens during this HOH. Taylor is his closest ally and Final Two, leaving Barrett, Drew, and Melody as the only logical three nominees while the Blockbuster format continues.

Taylor immediately began selling Melody a story that Drew destroyed their ceasefire by running to the veterans and targeting her and Yash. The feed report identifies that story as fabricated, which means Drew may be evicted partly for treachery he committed in the emotional sense, if not the factual one.

Nominations arrive today. Drew appears to be Yash’s target, Dee and Devens are temporarily untouchable, and next Thursday brings a double eviction. The house finally removed one Icon, then protected the remaining two by contract. Big Brother strategy remains the art of solving one fire by legally promising not to touch the gasoline.
