BB28 8/31 Blog: Devens Sits on the Block and
Barrett Crosses Over from the Crossovers
By Nathan Vogel
I don’t know if it’s that blindside-hungry Survivor energy, but if there’s one thing about the
Crossovers, they love to put their allies on the block. Yes, the evil icon baby (his words, not
mine!) put Devens up as the renom today. So, probably the last three person block is Taylor,
LaLa, and Devens. Everyone I caught on the feeds seems nervous/excited for Thursday.
Very first-day-of-school energy.
And the icons have every reason to be worried. Dee and Angela chatted about that before
the ceremony. But afterwards, Devens assured Drew and Barrett he trusted them, was ready to win the Blockbuster on Thursday, and if he didn’t… still trusted he’d be safe. But he still wanted lots of hugs and reassurances from Barrett.
How Devens can feel comfortable enough with this whole thing after burning the two people
his safety hinges on the most is beyond me. But I guess what can he do? The die is cast
and maybe he heard Dan Gheesling’s advice through the walls last week and wants to keep
his emotions in check.
But Yash and Taylor (and I have to assume by extension LaLa) were hype to have this
potential shot at the other side. Yash felt in his bones that things would go their way on
Thursday. And if we can believe Barrett as of yesterday and his ominous subtle comments to Melody today, unless Devens does win the BB, things will. But the guy is playing it very cool with the Crossovers right now. They took a family photo today and everything. Time
(machine table) will tell whose faces are scratched out of that pic.
The houseguests spent their last night in the backyard for the week chatting. The
Crossovers guys hoped for some double-eviction—which should be soon—success: that
they can use it to get out everyone left but the Crossovers and Melody. Later Drew, Yash,
Melody, and Barrett had various convos. As Barrett mourned Mallory with Melody, he hinted
at a change this week. With this Devens move, Drew has set himself and the icons up for a
blindside of their own.
