Big Brother Week 3 Eviction: Jason Goes Out with a Tea Kettle, a Cold Shoulder, and a Standing Ovation from Julie’s Wooden Spoon
The underdogs talked a big game all week, and then completely chickened out.
Classic Big Brother.
Last night opened with the Block Buster, this week’s version being a Jenga-style VHA tower where nominees had to grab tapes without toppling the whole thing. LaLa’s tower collapsed almost immediately, taking her out with a measly two tapes.
It came down to Mallory versus Jason in a genuine nail-biter, and Mallory pulled it off, eight tapes to seven. Just one tape. That’s the margin Jason lost his safety by.
As you can expect, he was devastated.
With Mallory safe, it was Jason and LaLa on the chopping block, and Jason knew exactly what was coming. When Kamu tried to go in for a comforting hug, Jason hit him with an ice-cold “Don’t touch me, Kamu,” and just walked off.
Say what you want about the man, but he committed to the bit right to the end.
His final speech, though? Genuinely great TV.
He basically stood up and told the whole house, in no uncertain terms, that the power players “will corner you, they will bully you, they will harass you, they will tell lies,” and begged them to keep him around as a shield instead.
It was passionate and logical.
Ultimately, it was completely ignored.
Because despite days of quiet vote-flip scheming from Drew, Barrett, and Taylor, when it actually came time to pull the trigger, everybody chickened out and voted with the house. Jason was evicted 12-0. There was not a single vote in his corner after everything.
But there was still a redemption arc.
Jason walked out that door to Julie Chen Moonves banging her own metal tea kettle at him like a proud, unhinged mother. It was chaotic and beautiful and exactly the send-off he deserved.
Julie then told him he’d landed top three in every single Time Capsule fan vote, proof that America was rooting for the kettle, even if his housemates weren’t. He left yelling for whoever’s next to grab the kettle and “air them out.”
Post-eviction, Haley won the new HOH, meaning Red Corner has now controlled the house for four straight weeks. At this point, it’s less power in the house and more power monopoly. She’s already eyeing Taylor as her target, with LaLa and Mallory as likely company on the block.
Fourteen houseguests left. Same power structure.
Can someone please shake this house up?
