BB28 7/19 Blog: Rome’s Fall

The houseguests time traveled over to a Honky Tonk for this week’s HOH comp, and Chuk, resident country boy, felt right at home. But maybe toocomfy cause he was the first one out. Devens, on the other boot, had a grand ol’ time and took home the title even though he meant to throw it.
Then we got drama that’d make Shakespeare jealous. Love, friendship, betrayal, and egg costume. The whole deal.
Basically, Devens had a chat with his buddy Rome, wanted to check in, make sure whoever he put on the block the two of them would still be cool. Rome said for sure, so long as he didn’t touch Jason, his love Lyric (duh), or himself (duh duh). Devens basically said “No sweat.” Then that temptress Angela got in Devens’ ear.
Next thing you know, Devens was summoning everyone from his two alliances up to the HOH room in the middle of the night to pitch his plan: put up Melody, Jason, Lyric, and (potentially) backdoor Rome. In a confessional, he admitted this was probably not to his benefit, but definitely good for the drama.
Rome, though, noticed everybody getting up in the night and felt, as one should when all your roomies have a meeting in the middle of the night without you, uneasy. The poor guy went as far as to ring the HOH doorbell to be let in on the “hang”, a couple of times. No dice. So, he waited. Oh, he waited. He just sat down outside the door while his so-called friend cackled with his cronies inside.
Oh, also Angela was voted America’s favorite (obviously) but landed the Hard-Boiled Detective punishment in the BB Time Capsule. This severely bruised Jason’s ego, which no doubt contributed to the completely off-the-rails nomination ceremony where Devens did lock in Rome’s allies as the noms.
It was a jam-packed episode, so to briefly sum up the feeds: it gets worse. Mostly for Rome. Devens wins the veto too, Jason throws him under the bus, so does Lyric, but she also flirts with other dudes. But also, that’s their plan? But he’s upset when she does it? As last night wound down, Rome polled the house on how they abbreviate Taco Bell. No one was on his side.
