Dee came in swinging like that George of the Jungle cosplay everybody was rocking this first HOH comp and took home the win, kicking off a pretty easy week for the vets this season.
Well, except for Devens, who landed himself—and his team for the comp—Have-Not status. Doing a puzzle in the jungle, no food. He might as well poop in the pool, he’s basically back on Survivor.
The three vets buddied up and locked in with two (seemingly solid) alliances: a mostly fake one, the Red Corner, and a real one, the Crossovers. But between those and the houseguests who earned safety in the first episode, it was slim pickings for nominations. The Red Corner pushed for Barrett and any of the three girls—Lyric, Mallory, and Melody—who can’t decide if they’re working together or not. (But until they do, they will hang out together all the time, and they will get pissed if anyone assumes they are working together. I guess they want people to unexpect the expected. Eh?)
What the Corner didn’t know, of course, is that Barrett is in the Crossovers. Plus he heart-eyed Dee. And Dee wasn’t about to put up all girls, so she cooked up some BS about fairness and being a late arrival (so late!) and put up one person from each HOH comp team: Taylor, Mallory, and Yash.
Somehow, nobody felt that blindsided by those noms. Not the Red Corner. And not Yash, who was on Dee’s winning team and who she kind of promised safety to in the middle of the comp (or am I misunderstanding “We’re all safe this week, alright?”). Bounced check there.
But on to today’s feeds; spoilers ahead, of course. One being, Kamu bringing up my exact point! So they’re not all too sleep deprived. A new alliance is named: the Jesters (Drew, Jason, Melody).
Mallory’s won the Veto, so Dee has to come up with a renom. A couple of names float around: Lala, Melody, Ashley, Barrett. Dee claims the logical thing to do would be to put up one of the two people who weren’t on an HOH comp team—the last arbitrary group—so, Ashley or Barrett. From a purely strategic standpoint, is she going to put up the guy who has a mad crush on her? I don’t think so.
