B28 8/4 Blog: Upstairs A Decision Is Kind of Made, Downstairs They Forget to Turn the Oven On
By Nathan Vogel
The nominees did their rounds today, trying to get the pulse. Drew still pledged his trust in the Toolshed. Lyric checked in with her boys. And actually, Melody… I guess she wasn’t feeling it. She was chatting but, unless I missed something, wasn’t really campaigning. She did hope someone has a dream about her winning the Blockbuster though. So, there’s that.
Dee gave Lyric a nice pep talk. You can tell when an icon is actually mentoring someone when they don’t recommend calling a house meeting. Dee tossed out an interesting strategy move, that Lyric go to Haley, Chuk, and Kamu and say she’ll target Dee if they keep her. I’m not sure it’d work out for Lyric any better than that (same-ish) idea worked out for Jason last week, but she didn’t seem willing to do it anyway.
Not that Haley has much say at this point, but she caught Kamu up with a pitch that Melody is the best to go. She’s thinking ahead, which I appreciate, but just to next week. She said that if Lyric wins HOH next week, she would still have non-Red Corner people to put up. But Melody would absolutely throw them all up if she could. Now can Melody win HOH? Nobody thinks so. But let them cook, let them cook.
Maybe things are looking up for Drew. But things are looking even more up for Lyric—even though folks are sus of her promises—because by the end of the chat it looked like the plan was “officially” to split up Drew and Melody. The logic boiled down to Melody is targeting the peeps in power and leading Drew astray. So, one of them’s got to go.
That’s all the upstairs talk. And I’m not sure anyone downstairs is willing to stick their neck out to go against it.
Speaking of cooking, the nominees shared a late-night pizza tonight. After a long wait because they forgot to turn the oven on. Feels like they’re really trying to milk this Big Brother thing in case they do go on Thursday. Or maybe Melody thinks a pepperoni aroma will inspire Blockbuster-winning dreams.
