BB28 8/16 Blog: Yash Turns Down 5k of Chipotle And Puts Icons On the Block

Tonight’s episode started out with Haley getting all the chats: some congratulations, a make up between her and Angela à la Disney channel show, Kamu locking back in with her. Haley felt confident enough to tell people she thought she’d get America’s vote to enter the BB Time Capsule. Haley, Haley, Haley. Too confident.
Then we time traveled to the turn of the century, New Years 1999, for a head-to-head HOH comp. Some people were giving party energy and some people were giving this-spot-the-difference-game-could-be-the-end-for-me. The houseguests targeted some expected pairings, I think, but Devens and Taylor tore up their working relationship when they picked each other early on. In the end, Yash won, which set us up for a power shift, for sure.
Taylor, LaLa, and Kamu were hype for their boy. So were Devens and Dee. Angela—the only icon with some sense in this moment—was worried. Initially, Yash wanted to put up Haley, Angela, and Dee—but with Dee as a pawn. Then Kamu partied up to the HOH room and worked his magic (I guess? The guy just gets what he wants.), and Yash landed on the same nominees—but no pawn mentioned.
Yash trusted Devens enough to run the initial plan by him, but Devens couldn’t work any Survivor magic. All the former newscaster could do was break the news to Dee. She ran up to the HOH room and offered Yash her BB Bribe to keep Angela and herself safe for the week. Didn’t work. She tried the bribe for just herself. Yash thought about it. He thought not. We saw Angela try to play emotional ball with Yash and promise him safety. She struck out.
We also got to see Melody take her 50/50 shot (this week) at a power in the BB Time Capsule. She didn’t get one. Instead, she got the ‘Lady of the Latrine’ punishment. Haley was shook that Melody got America’s vote but found comfort in the fact that she got a punishment. But how did she feel the first time she had to ask Melody to use the bathroom?
As for the feeds today, Devens seems sure about using the Diamond Power of Veto to save Dee. Yash won the veto, so the normal one won’t be any help to anyone. Should be a very exciting day tomorrow.
