Big Brother 28 Recap: Kamu Gets “Evacuated,” and Dee Gets the Keys

Thursday’s Big Brother began with three nominees, one Blockbuster, and the reasonable assumption that an MMA fighter or former Division I athlete would beat Angela Murray at a frantic ball-sorting competition.

Angela had other plans. Or possibly no plan beyond moving like rent was due, which was more than enough.

The Blockbuster required Angela, Haley, and Kamu to corral red and yellow balls into separate tubes while wind blasted through their booths. Kamu stumbled early. Haley stayed close. Angela, powered by birthday cake, indignation, and whatever supernatural force makes her most dangerous when everyone dismisses her, filled both tubes first. She did not initially realize she had won, then celebrated with enough “Oh my Gods” to carry the show through commercial break.

That left former allies Haley and Kamu on the block. Kamu had spent the week pitching himself as a sword, shield, and future destroyer of the Icons. The house responded by removing the sword before attempting to storm the castle. He was evicted 8–1, with LaLa casting the lone vote against Haley. Dee accidentally called it an “evacuation,” which felt strangely accurate. Kamu did not leave so much as get extracted after Rick Devens dropped a Diamond Veto directly onto Yash’s HoH.

Kamu handled his exit interview graciously, crediting the move even while admitting it hurt to be its victim. His departure before Jury was still remarkable. Two weeks ago, he appeared insulated by alliances, relationships, and competition ability. Then he abandoned Chuk and Haley, survived the collapse, rebuilt quickly, and became so visibly capable that everyone agreed he needed to leave before he could rebuild again.

The episode ended before the next HoH result, but the feeds delivered the punchline: Dee won.

Yes, the same Dee whom Yash nominated, Devens rescued, and Kamu promised to target is now sleeping upstairs. The Icons did not merely survive the rebellion. They repossessed the HoH room before Yash’s snacks were cold.

Downstairs, Taylor, Mallory, and LaLa gathered in the Have-Not room to perform the traditional post-eviction ritual of identifying who ruined everything. The answer was Drew and Barrett, accused of blocking the votes to save Kamu and fanning too enthusiastically over the Icons. Taylor coached Mallory on how to distance herself from the failed plan, while Mallory worried about pushing too hard and becoming the next Lyric-style renom. LaLa wants Devens gone. Taylor wants Haley and Drew vulnerable. Mallory thinks Drew and Barrett lied. Everyone agrees the house was theirs until the voting part happened.

Upstairs, Dee settled into HoH life by showering, listening to music, reading and translating her Spanish letter. Dee hopes the cameras stop filming her sleeping with her mouth open.

By dawn, LaLa was feeling her way onto a rotating Have-Not bed while Dee finally slept upstairs again.

Power shifts quickly. Comfort shifts faster.

It usually shifts before breakfast.
