BB28 8/17 Blog: “Angela’s Birthday Went Hard”

To quote Barrett. And I agree. But it wasn’t because of the killer dinner or Barrett and
Mallory’s obviously original birthday song. Today was the veto ceremony and the veto winner and current HOH, Yash, did not use it. But Devens used his: the Diamond Power of Veto!
Epic stuff.
Devens used it to save Dee. He got to choose the replacement too and put up Kamu. We’ll
have to see how things shook out in the ceremony in Wednesday’s (or Thursday’s? Will they
leave us hanging?) episode, but the house definitely seemed fired up afterward.
Apparently Dee (now safe for the week, mind you) was so salty she rejected Kamu’s post-ceremony dap. And on Yash’s HOH! Expect the unexpected.
This was part of a larger push, cemented last night between the icons and FAP (Barrett,
Mallory, Drew, and Melody) in the Moshpit alliance. And the veto play was talked about like it
drew the line in cement between—at least—the icons and Yash, Kamu, Haley, LaLa, and
Taylor. But I’m not convinced everyone sees things as black and white as that. Devens
certainly hopes he can mend things with Yash and Kamu. And FAP hasn’t shown their cards
to the later group.
Kamu sat down with Dee as soon as he could after the ceremony, cleared the air. He wished they’d had the conversation sooner. If I was on the block out of nowhere thanks to a secret power and a conversation might’ve helped me avoid that, I’d wished it’d happened beforehand too. Fire up the dining room table time machine!
Yash didn’t seem too fazed by the move. In fact, he pretty much immediately laughed it off
as a bad one. He thought, with FAP, his allies would still have the votes to get out Angela.
And after today, Kamu and Haley would be even more fired up to go after the icons. And
Kamu was. Later in the day, Yash was weary enough to consider that if Kamu goes, he
might be next.
But the night wasn’t all bitter reflection, there was Angela’s birthday party too. The
houseguests had some dinner, cake, and a variety show for the BB royalty. She got a little
emotional (as she does). But today, she wasn’t the only one.
