Big Brother 28 Week 6 Recap: Yash Won Everything Except Control

Big Brother 28 entered Week 6 with Chuk evicted, Haley orphaned, and the houseguests apparently determined to form one alliance for every available throw pillow.

Yash won Head of Household and immediately did what fans have been begging someone to do: put the Icons under pressure. He nominated Haley, Dee, and Angela, giving us the rare sight of returning players touching the block instead of hovering above it like CBS-sponsored gargoyles. Then Yash won OTEV, too. HoH and Veto in the same week should equal power. In this house, it apparently equals a commemorative mug and front-row seats to your own derailment.

Yash left his nominations intact. Rick Devens did not.

Devens finally unleashed his Diamond Power of Veto, removed Dee, and named Kamu as the replacement nominee. It was bold, flashy, strategically defensible, and subtle in the way a marching band entering your kitchen is subtle. In one ceremony, Devens saved Dee, protected the Icons’ numbers, exposed his power, declared war on Yash’s side, and painted a target on himself large enough for Zingbot to see from storage.

Kamu now sits beside Haley and Angela, trying to sell himself as both sword and shield against the Icons. Unfortunately, everyone else has noticed the sword can win competitions. His best route is the BB Blockbuster; his second-best route is convincing players that evicting the weapon before attacking the fortress may be poor planning.

Meanwhile, the middle is doing what the Big Brother middle does best: promising loyalty in several directions while panicking that somebody else may be doing the same thing. Drew, Barrett, Melody, and Mallory’s FAP alliance merged toward the Icons as the Mosh Pit, though Melody and Mallory are already discussing when to turn on them. Nothing says durable majority like planning its funeral before the first group photo.

As eviction approaches, Kamu appears to be the target if he loses the Blockbuster, with Haley the likeliest fallback and Angela somehow surviving another week by being simultaneously chaotic and useful. Devens has promised to blow up every alliance if the vote flips, including the Mosh Pit, Red Corner, Crossovers, and Wolf Pack.

At this point, a house meeting may be easier than remembering who belongs to what.
