Big Brother 28 Week 10 Recap: Two Evictions, One Curse, and a Missing Bonnet
Week 10 began with Yash holding power and ended with Barrett and Yash in jury, Melody accidentally preserving the veterans she targeted, and an ancient Egyptian curse arriving to punish anyone who thought Thursday’s double eviction had provided enough chaos.
Yash won HOH after Angela’s eviction, but Dee’s BB Bribe restricted his choices. Because he could not nominate Dee or Devens, he placed Barrett, Drew, and Melody on the block, with Drew as the target. The twist had converted Yash’s HOH into the strategic equivalent of choosing dinner from a menu where someone else had crossed out half the entrees.
Then came the Pressure Cooker veto. Dee lasted four hours and 23 minutes, Melody five hours and 49 minutes, Devens seven hours and 48 minutes, and Barrett 12 hours and 39 minutes. Yash and Drew remained after nearly everyone’s grip, patience, and relationship with healthy circulation had expired.
Drew promised Yash safety during his next HOH and agreed not to vote out Taylor if she became replacement nominee. He first swore on a nonexistent cousin, then used his real sister when Yash requested a family member who could survive basic fact-checking. Yash dropped at 13 hours. Drew won the veto, saved himself, and forced Yash to nominate Taylor.
Thursday’s double eviction opened with Melody winning the final Blockbuster. Barrett and Taylor remained nominated. Devens, Dee, and Drew voted out Barrett, while Melody voted against Taylor. Barrett left 3-1 after being betrayed by Drew, proving once again that a Big Brother “duo” is often one loyal person standing beside someone practicing jury management.
Melody then won the rapid HOH and nominated Dee and Devens, finally taking the shot she had discussed all summer. Devens responded by destroying the veto puzzle and saving himself. Taylor begged Melody to nominate Drew, correctly predicting he would evict Yash over Dee. Melody trusted Drew and nominated Yash anyway.
Drew and Devens evicted Yash 2-1. Taylor voted against Dee. Melody had won HOH to remove a veteran, nominated both veterans, and finished with both protected. It was less a failed strike than an escorted return to power.
The house barely exhaled before production introduced the Pharaoh’s Curse. Devens secretly pressed a button, accepted $10,000, and triggered an accelerated eviction. Four exhausted players began the Tiny HOH around 3:35 a.m. Devens won, secured Final Four, and nominated Drew and Melody.
Drew won Saturday’s veto by dragging a large dummy through a physical competition, a metaphor Big Brother generously declined to underline. He plans to save himself, making Taylor the expected replacement beside Melody. Dee remains protected, exactly as Devens intended, and Melody is the likely casualty unless the curse includes a surprise clause titled “Congratulations, Your Bad Read Is Now Retroactively Brilliant.”
The overnight feeds captured the emotional hangover. Drew told Dee that choosing between her and Devens would be difficult, then proposed their trio as an excellent Final Three. Dee answered “fun,” the kind of response that should make anyone immediately review the exit locations.
Meanwhile, Taylor and Melody shared late-night snacks and historical confusion. Taylor wondered whether Cody was married, misremembered Nicole Franzel’s record, regretted not pressing the $10,000 button, and recoiled after discovering her food was made in Egypt. She also informed Melody that Drew was her “house man.” Melody denied it, which remains their preferred relationship label whenever cameras are present and functional eyes exist.
Taylor then lost her bonnet, twerked for the cameras, abandoned her pod, and went to the bathroom wearing only a sweatshirt. Devens had his own insomnia upstairs, tossing, turning, attempting to adjust the HOH monitor in the dark, and getting ordered by Big Brother to stop. Winning power apparently guarantees safety, photographs, beer, and absolutely no peace.
Morning brought a suitably ominous announcement: “The only constant in life is change.” Drew showered, received a reminder to wash his hands, then walked laps while the camera tracked him through the backyard windows. Dee later joined him to discuss how neither of them pressed the cursed button.
This was technically true and strategically irrelevant. Devens pressed it, received the money, won HOH, protected Dee, and now holds the likely deciding vote. Week 10 began with Yash constrained by one deal and ended with the entire house constrained by another man’s greed.
The curse may be Egyptian, but the lesson is universal: never press a mysterious button unless you are prepared to lose sleep, nominate your friends, and listen to someone incorrectly explain Big Brother history at midnight while hunting her bonnet.
