BB28 8/9 Blog: LaLa Hangs On for Wall History and Cool Kid Comeuppance

Wall comp! If you’re reading this blog, you probably saw at least some of it live on the feeds and the whole thing is old news, but c’mon, wall comp!
Let’s go back in time though because we got the edited breakdown of last Thursday’s Lyric (maybe more accurately, Haley) blindside. Four and a half hours before the eviction, Dee and Devens got antsy (okay, sure, maybe Lyric was only better for the Cool Kids, maybe), and they got together and convinced the Crossovers, Mallory, and Taylor to save the whatever-mance Melody and Drew. The problem was that they were too good at rallying the troops, and they ended up with too many votes to hide behind and pin on people outside the Toolshed. From Angela and Dee lying to Haley and Chuk, to LaLa pretending to be confused, to Kamu cheezing about it (“Big Brother—gotta love it”) and making Chuk and Yash paranoid, it was pretty funny. I’ve never seen Melody happier than when she was talking about how Haley could finally have a hard week.
So the stakes were high and hairy for—bigfoot themed—wall comp! Drew, Kamu, LaLa, and Yash were the last ones standing after about an hour. But ultimately, LaLa made history and took home the W. Very awesome. But a little nerve-racking for most people since they haven’t talked game with her.
At first, she was leaning toward an aggressive pawn strategy: putting up Drew and Barrett as pawns plus Kamu, with Haley as the backdoor option. But Kamu worked his relationship with Taylor, who worked her relationship with LaLa. And after a one-one-one between Kamu and LaLa, LaLa went with what the house could have only dreamed of after last week: Chuk, Haley, and Barrett. Well, sorry Barrett, not you bro.
We also got to see Mallory compete in the BB Time Capsule and land the Adam & Eve punishment. She chose Melody as her partner for 48 hours of wearing fig leaves. If I was Angela, I’d be like, “Only 48 hours? What the heck?!” (It ended today.)
As for the feeds: yesterday, Kamu won the veto. So, everyone’s been asking the question—will he use it? Right now, it looks like probably not. And his old allies seem fine with that but mopey in general. They’ve really hit a wall this week.
